It is with deepest sadness that I announce the passing of our fell comrade U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran John Tynan, Commander of the Stephen F. Rutledge VFW Post 864 and member of the Brookline American Legion Post 11.

Brookline American Legion Post 11 Scholarship Winners have been announced!

Each applicant researched and created a 2-4 minute video about one of the sixteen Memorial Squares in Brookline. We received some AMAZING video submissions by students from our town. See the top videos at:

• First Place ($2,500) Dafna Williams
• Second Place ($1,000) Rotem Nir
• Third Place ($500) Brunna Mattos Rocha

Commander Hendrickson stands at attention 
at Allen Red MacPherson’s service at Walnut Hills Cemetery

It is with deepest sympathy that I announce the passing of one of our fellow American Legion veteran brothers — U.S. Navy and Korean War Veteran – American Legion Chaplain and Member-VFW Member Allen Red MacPherson passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020.

Allen’s service is private and will be held Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Bell O’Dea Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Walnut Hills Cemetery at 1 p.m. and is not private.
